SEGA Introduces Sonic Boom Character Sticks the Jungle Badger

SEGA International formally introduced another highlight character of the Western-exclusive Sonic the Hedgehog alternate series, Sonic Boom, Sticks. Sticks is a female jungle badger who is a friend of the heroic foursome of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. Possessing a wild, fairly animalistic, and overall eccentric attitude, she is one to look out for in the world of Sonic Boom. Longtime voice actress Nika Futterman portrays Sticks.

This is, without a doubt...

...Sonic the Hedgehog himself.

"Who's That Character?" - May 2014

SEGA of Japan's children websites like Sonic Channel discovered potential unauthorized access to their web servers, and the company is taking careful measures to check and hopefully, as soon as possible, restore data and the websites in general.

Regardless, here's our scheduled monthly dose of Sonic Channel's Character Quiz.

誰でしょうか? Who is this?

The answer [and the wallpaper showing this character] will be revealed in a future post.

You can alternatively find these wallpapers of your favorite characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog series in the "Wallpapers" section.

Song of the Week: May 9, 2014

Hover above the Japanese words to read the words as romanized.

Song: "Zephyr"
Artist: Sukekiyo
Album: Immortalis (2014)

傷付け壊し 蒸し暑い夜に

I cannot forget you and your suffering
For that gaze revealed all of the answers
Wounded and broken in the humid evening
As fireworks kill the setting sun
I follow the compass once more

Sukekiyo is a Japanese rock band; it is a side project of Dir En Grey vocalist Kyo. With Kyo on vocals, the band, whose members Kyo handpicked himself, consists of former Rentrer En Soi bandmates Takumi and Mika on guitar, piano and drums, respectively, former 9Goats Black Out member Uta on guitar and violin, and former Kannivalism member Yuchi on bass. Sukekiyo recently released their first studio album, Immortalis, on April 30. Contrary to Dir En Grey's heavy approach, it features a softer, more progressive, and more experimental sound.

"Zephyr" is the fifth track of Immortalis. Melancholic and brooding, as so with most of the album, "Zephyr" showcases Kyo's impressive and ranged vocal work - minus the monstrous growls and banshee screams that he is especially known for with Dir En Grey. His high notes, especially highlighted in the chorus, can possibly equate to a lullaby - for those already grown, that is. Let's not forget the rest of the band; the guitar and drum work provide a suiting melody to this song, and they harmonize well with Kyo's vocals.

Ilya Bryzgalov is a Sonic the Hedgehog Fan?

So Ilya Bryzgalov is apparently a Sonic the Hedgehog fan?

The great "Mr. Universe," of all players...

I'm a fan of hockey; I'm absolutely not a fan of the Minnesota Wild, but I can't help but laugh when SEGA noted this. I didn't know Bryz had this on his helmet in the NHL Playoffs, or if not, ever since or sometime since he came from the Edmonton Oilers.

A very weak and horrible connection, but should I be surprised that could be possibly why the Minnesota Wild defeated the Colorado Avalanche and advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals? Haha.

Bryzgalov's a good goaltender as he already demonstrated in his tenure with the Phoenix Coyotes and the Philadelphia Flyers - when he clearly shows he's good amid his eccentric antics, however.
